What Do the Colors You Wear Say About You?
Discover more about the psychology of colors.
We believe that a well-dressed gentleman must have knowledge of color psychology in order to create a look that sends the right message and, of course, pleases both himself and those around him.
Red
Positive associations with the color red include passion, love, romance, courage, energy, willpower, persuasion, leadership, and power. Negative associations include danger, aggression, and risk. Red is often a color filled with emotion. With this in mind, be careful about how much red you add to your outfits, otherwise you may appear overly flashy. If you wear too much red, you will appear energetic, strong-willed, and outspoken. If you like to be the one who stands out in your surroundings, let’s also mention that red is often the first color the human eye notices.
Finally, this vibrant color pairs well with blues, pinks, grays, and browns. Just be sure to use it in moderation and opt for softer tones like burgundy instead of bright red.

Blue
Blue is one of the most popular colors in men’s clothing and has positive connotations such as friendship, loyalty, positivity, trust, honesty, peace, intelligence, success, sympathy and wisdom. This color has relatively few negative connotations; the most common are shyness and coldness. In general, blue is a calming color that will make those around you feel more comfortable.
It can also give the feeling that you are in control of your environment. For this reason, it can be a particularly good choice for corporate events such as job interviews. Blue pairs well with brown, pink, red and orange, but can be considered a neutral color in men’s clothing and can be paired with most colors.
Green
Positive connotations of the color green include freshness, comfort, care, sociability, money and finance, nature, creativity, balance, healing and generosity. Negative connotations include mystery, jealousy, rigidity and stagnation. Green is a color that is pleasing to the eyes and mind, so if you wear a lot of green, you may want to be loved and recognized by people. Finally, it should be noted that green pairs well with yellow, brown and gray.
White
The positive connotations of white include trust, optimism, balance, innocence, simplicity, positivity, courage and freedom. Its negative connotations include perfectionism. Considering that white is generally associated with things like freedom and simplicity, it is easier to understand why most people prefer white when starting a new page, especially in things like furniture.
White is a neutral color or actually the absence of color. This makes it suitable for many different personality types. White clothes help you look innocent and clean, while also giving the impression that you are well-organized and in control.

Gray
The positive connotations of gray include balance, neutrality, calmness, maturity and serenity. Its negative connotations include coldness and indifference. Gray, another basic neutral tone in men’s clothing, can make you look organized and reliable. Those who wear too much gray usually prefer not to attract attention, while using this color too much can suppress your mood.
Darker grays give a stronger and more assertive expression. You can use these colors with pink, white, black, red and blue.

Black
The positive connotations of black are elegance, power, authority, elegance, luxury, intelligence and efficiency. It also has some negative connotations such as coldness, hardness, depression, aggression, mystery, death and mourning. This color is of course preferred by many people, but since it has the potential to be very strong, it may not be compatible with many skin tones. You can soften the expression by using black with other colors such as white and gray.
People who wear too much black are often described as ambitious, but they can also be sensitive. But it also matches well with black, white and grey and is ideal for formal environments.
