Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami Bring Back Their Legendary Collaboration
The collection consists of 200 pieces, from suitcases to sneakers, skateboards to perfumes.
Murakami’s work is instantly recognizable thanks to his distinctive blend of vibrant colors, bold lines, and a design sensibility that draws heavily from anime and traditional Japanese art. Since his debut in the ’90s, he’s become a household name in the contemporary art world, and over the years he’s achieved the rare feat of collaborating with countless brands, artists, and musicians, from Kanye West to Nike to Billie Eilish. His most notable work includes his iconic, color-filled collaboration with Louis Vuitton, which began with an expansive collection two decades ago. And the partnership returns on January 3 to commemorate LV and Murakami’s 20th anniversary.
The new collection is officially called the Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Re-Edition and is a remastered version of the original capsule, which encompasses over 200 pieces.
