   Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive turn-based fantasy RPG that captures the Dungeons & Dragons experience better than any other game. Baldur’s Gate 3, which was released on PS5 a month after its PC debut, won first place at The Game Awards, which recognizes the best games of 2023, and was named the game of the year.

3. God of War Ragnarök

   It’s always impressive when a critically acclaimed sequel is on par with its predecessor. While the action-adventure sequel largely sticks to the formula established by the original game, it does introduce some significant changes that help it stand out. The biggest of these comes from the refined combat, which makes it even more satisfying to tear apart enemies with the Leviathan Axe and Chaos Blades. As for the story, that may vary from person to person, but there’s no doubt that Kratos’ return in God of War Ragnarok is a great one.

4. The Last of Us Part I

   While the original The Last of Us for PS3 may still be a thing of the past, technology has come a long way since the game was first released in 2013. Of course, the visuals have been overhauled to reflect the characters’ counterparts from The Last of Us Part II. Beyond that, there are a number of gameplay improvements, like smarter AI that makes the game more immersive. It also takes advantage of the best features of the PS5, including haptic feedback. The Last of Us Part I won first place in the Best Adaptation category at The Game Awards 2023.

There aren’t many games like Horizon, which gives it an edge over the competition. Defeating giant mechanical dinosaurs is as awesome as it sounds, and so is exploring the vast open world this game offers. Guerrilla Games is top-notch, and we can’t wait to see what comes next from the developer.

7. Returnal

   Third-person shooter Returnal is an unforgettable action game that feels like the first true next-gen game. It takes full advantage of the Dualsense controller. Haptic feedback simulates everything from rain to the feel of an alien parasite clinging to the main character’s body. Adaptive triggers control different firing modes depending on the distance they are pressed, meaning a single button does multiple things. A built-in speaker provides helpful audio cues to let players know when their alternate fire is ready. For those who really want to see what the PlayStation 5 console can do, Returnal is the place to start.

8. HITMAN 3

10. Gran Turismo 7

GT7 is the best racing game that showcases the PS5’s capabilities.
